race-accHere at Spine and Sports Chiropractic, we have firsthand experience in realizing that each injury and athlete is different. Although you and your friend may both suffer from ITBand syndrome, the source of the injury may be completely different. Therefore, everyone receives an individualized plan of care that includes a movement assessment, chiropractic adjustment to fix the joint dysfunction, soft tissue treatment to release the tight muscles, and rehabilitation to strengthen the muscular imbalance. As a chiropractor, Doctors Satchell, Althans, and Garner have an advanced understanding of the musculoskeletal system, which allows them to look beyond areas where you feel the pain and actually find the root cause. This is often different from the area where you feel the pain.

Student Athlete Injuries

race-accIt is critical to get injured student athletes checked by a professional. When a person still has growing to do, or hopes for a long sporting career ahead of them, the healing process needs to be monitored. All the doctors a Spine and Sports have extensive training and education in treating and managing injuries sustained while in organized sports. We work with coaches and parents to make sure everyone understands the extent of the injury and the plan to return to play. This can involve a referral to the right specialist, being pulled from a sport for rest, and always includes a treatment plan of action to get the athlete back to playing at his or her best as soon as possible. We have the ability in office to examine, take xrays, treat and monitor the injury appropriately, rehab the injury back to health and take procedures to prevent the injury from occurring again; all of the things that are most important when treating young athletes.
